They should relocate to Birmingham. New state of the art building.

The building itself has historical interest but it's absolutely falling to pieces.
They never show the shooting gallery in the basement either on the tour. Which is a shame.

Coffee - you can't during the week when Parliament is sitting (unless it is in recess).

You can go into the Chamber on an organised tour, but you're not allowed to sit down.

Having said that, I think only the paying tour may allow you to go in the Chamber itself as most of the tours MPs arrange are during the week, so the Chamber is only accessible by MPs.

Of fuck off that place completely and go over Westminster Bridge to Namco and spend an hour or two playing Street Fighter.
Far better way to spend your money.

Well, even if you just go to Westminster Hall and Central Lobby, that's still worth seeing - both are spectacular and have so much history. Plus then you can go and watch a bit of a debate and snooze off to sleep.
Agreed, the tour is worth doing as you get the context explained and most MPs should be able to arrange that very easily for free.

You don't have to do a full tour, but you can go in and watch the debates in both Houses.

Re: Anyone been to the Houses of Parliament?

But to get in free and walk round is utterly pointless.
There's no point going all the way up there to not get the proper tour and find out the history.
Like going to the Upton Park and standing in the car park.
